Established in 2005 to meet the ever-growing demand for landscaping in the UAE, HFL is one of the few companies approved by Dubai Municipality Drainage & Irrigation Department, RTA to carry out irrigation projects. Employing over 75 people at its office in Dubai, HFL carries out landscaping and irrigation projects, hardscaping works, swimming pool construction, play ground equipment supplies, construction of sport fields and HDPE pipe laying.
Key Responsibilities
•Plan, design, supervise and install major landscape and irrigation projects showing attention to minute details.
•Meet with client, define requirements, survey the land and prepare proposals according to their prerequisite and site conditions.

Major Achievements.
•Tendered and won projects like Tanqia Water Treatment Plant - Landscaping & Irrigation Works (AUD 400000.00), Ibn Battuta Mall - Landscaping Works (AUD 600000.00), Dubal -Maintenance Work 2 year contract (AUD 220000).
•Designed and installed irrigation system to use the treated effluent water, in the Fujairah Water Treatment Plant, designed and installed a Roof Garden for the Lake Terrace Project.
•Prepared the company profile in Microsoft publisher with 90 pages.
•Compiled a plant catalogue in Microsoft Office Publisher with 125 plants for client meetings featuring various trees, shrubs and ground covers used for landscaping in the UAE
•HFL LLC was awarded the project LS001- planting at Emirates Road. The client was Roads & Transport Authority, Dubai. This project involved laying of irrigation mainlines 8", 6" and 4", lateral lines, drip & bubbler irrigation system, filtration chambers. The value of the project was USD 2.4 Million. This was a design and build project and I was the Irrigation Design Engineer and the Project Manager on this job. This project involved the following:
•Designing the irrigation network for 12 KM’s of the Emirates Road.
•Obtained all the required trial pit and construction NOC’s (permits) from all 14 Government Departments.
•Prepared & submitted irrigation design drawings.
•Submitted all paper work for the project as per contractual requirement, such as the clause 14 program, cash flow, manpower and machinery histogram.
•Mobilized the site offices that required demarcation certificates from the survey department, obtained approvals of the coordinates and police permission to shift the porta-cabin etc.
•Approval of all the drawings from the Right of Way Department to ensure that the irrigation network is laid in the irrigation corridor.
June 1997 – July 2008 Projects Manager
Irrigation Trade Middle East LLC. Dubai, UAE
Established in 1984 by an Australian, Irrigation Trade Middle East LLC (ITME LLC) is one of the leading irrigation and landscape Company’s in the United Arab Emirates, with an annual turnover of over AUD 10,000,000. The Company’s 10,000 m2 nursery contributes 50% of the plants needed for landscape projects; the rest was imported from suppliers in the Far East. It also had a trading division importing products mainly from Australia (Philmac) for retail in the local market.
Key Responsibilities
•Execution of Major and Minor projects with a team of Project Engineers, Irrigation & Landscape Engineers and reporting to the General Manager.
•During the tender stage, studying the feasibility of the project and the risks involved.
•Representing ITME at the pre-tender, post-tender and project kick off meetings.
•Preparation and submission of the clause 14 program.
•Preparation of the materials list, sending enquiries to suppliers, negotiating rates with the suppliers and finalizing the sub contract works and suppliers.
•Surveying the site and assisting the draftsman in preparation of the shop drawings.
•Preparing and submitting to the consultants the materials for approval.
•Conducting regular progress meetings with the sub contractors and the projects team.
•Preparing the cash flow and budgeting for the project.
•Preparation and submission of the Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
•Providing technical support to the Trading Division.

•Successfully tendered the irrigation project at the International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture – Phase 3. 11 Companies participated in the tender enquiry, however, we were the only Company able to submit a feasible tender due to the projects complexity.
•Successful completion of landscaping at five star hotels such as, Shangri La Dubai, Le Royal Meridian Airport to name a few.
•Participated in the Burjuman Expansion Project and won the contract for ITME. I was also responsible for execution of the project. This project had exotic palms & trees that were imported from Thailand. Project value A$ 2.4 million.
•Successfully tendered, designed and executed Dubai Aluminium Co. Landscaping works phase 1, 2, 3, green belt, and approach road projects.
•Successfully tendered Dubai Municipality Irrigation Projects such as IR 100/1, IR 73, and R757.
•Travelled to Thailand in order to inspect and import plants that were required for the Burjuman Centre Project.
•Successfully executed the construction of a large pumping unit for the Al Khawaneej Residential Complex using TSE water. The pumping unit was fully automated with modern controls such as Pressure Sensors, Flow Sensors, a Differential Pressure Switch, VFD’s, Electromagnetic Flow Meters, Pressure Regulators, Suction Scan Screen Filters, Flow Switches, Level Sensors & Vibration Limit Switches etc.
•Designed the irrigation system using Nelson Rain Guns for the Sharjah Equestrian Club- Horse Jumping Arena.
•Designed and installed TORO 690 series valves in head sprinklers for a football pitch including the construction of the pitch at the Emirates Int’l School, Jumeirah.
•Handled the operation of the Company’s Nursery for over 1 year in the absence of a Nursery Manager.
